Beast mode

A nice, productive day in the studio. Had both Holly and intern Cassy here, so we made a lot of progress! It's making me feel hopeful about being properly prepared for this year off from December.

All our older samples are getting finished and finding homes nice and swiftly. And I've remembered five more that we will be finishing up quite soon I hope. Lord, just when you think you've finished with all the samples! It's good though, I'm enjoying clearing out the stuff we won't be keeping and given I still need to save some monies for the studies I would like to do, sales are definitely important right now.

Today we progressed on one bespoke corset and two re-embellished/altered samples for clients. We posted items and cut out two new silk overbusts (for the "year off" collection... I really need a better name for it.). We prepped three (and a half) other silk overbusts for this collection, so they're ready for seams then steels. We've been so busy sewing, that I've not done my emails. But, tomorrow is a new day.

Oh, I killed my laptop charger cable today though. Most irksome. £13 for a replacement might not seem a big deal, but at the moment I'm all about the spare tenners here and there. One of my financial goals is to close my commercial credit card by 2017, so those spare tenners count. It's all good though. I'm trying to recall the hustle I had back in 2012, when I had some of my best cashflow months ever. It's a challenge. But a few more days like this one and we'll be grand.

Three of our corsets, almost ready for sale. We're working through and using up all our bits of broche, etc. Which is nice, since people often ask us to do classics but I don't often do them, preferring shiny silk pieces.

One of our "year off" corsets is going to be a luscious colourful butterfly... Of the ones we've prepped so far, she's the one I'm currently most excited about. But the others are delish too. My hope is to have up to two dozen silk corsets in a rainbow of colours, all ready for embellishment during 2017. Here's hoping I can make that wish come true! We need to order a fair few more shades of the posh silk to make it a really. Fingers crossed.

Right, I'm off home. Cup of tea, watch Valegro at the Olympics, curl up in bed, lovely.
