Designing the "Where Angels" collection

If you are on our mailing list you will have already seen small versions of these sketches and more. So I thought I would write a little bit about the ideas behind them.

The very first Fool's Gold idea I had is top centre. Heavily encrusted shoulders, silk georgette or tulle drapery, and an embellished corset glimmering from beneath. Indeed, I had hoped to make this design as a showpiece last year but with so many other couture shinies to work on we never got round to it. At any rate, this and other gown designs were bumped in favour of Queen and Snowdrop which I felt were more wearable.

I've wanted to do some vaguely equestrian designs for years now. I've touched on it in the past with horse motif quilting, dyed brown satin coutil (to look somewhat like leather), and hip cut hip arches based on historical riding corsets... But I've not yet done it in a couture way. One thought I keep having is to incorporate saddlery or bits. But I decided to keep this separate from the Where Angels collection, perhaps develop it in the future.

Early thoughts when embellishing the Unicorn corset. At one point I wanted to use chunks of yellow citrine, but again decided to keep that as an idea for the future. Perhaps a curated collection based on gem stones?

And what of the other designs we considered? Well you should have been on the mailing list to see them ;-) But I'll post them here when I get a chance.
