Highlights of 2015

Recently on the mailing list, I was reflecting on the year gone by. I don't know if I've ever truly made, meant, and stuck to a New Year's resolution, though one sort of happened during 2015 by accident...

I resolved to make it a Year of Beauty, and I think we managed that. Having a focus on beauty allowed us to make some of our best work yet, which is of course of benefit to both myself as a craftsperson and to our customers. When in doubt the question always was, "is this going to be the best, most beautiful, work we can do?" Both business and artistic decisions were easier than ever, as a result. There is a simplicity to knowing your strengths and playing to them, and since all I have ever wanted to do with my corsetry is give people a beautiful experience it was wonderful to return to that ethos with more conviction than ever before.

Highlights of the year included (but were not limited to)...

Falling Blossoms, the founding aesthetic for our first curated corsetry collection.

Poppies & Pearls, a couture bridal ensemble created for a total sweetheart.

And of course, we spent a good part of the year preparing for our next project, which is called Where Angels. If you are on the mailing list, you will already have read and seen a few snippets of information... I highly recommend signing up if couture corsetry of the highest level interests you.

Where Angels celebrates whim and caprice, alongside beauty and elegance. Sometimes we need to throw caution to the wind, be a little foolhardy. Memories aren't made of sensible stories...

We will be revealing the aesthetic and opening our books for participation during the first week of the New Year, and I cannot wait to see who will join me on this adventure. In the meantime, here is a little teaser of the aesthetic... Think, couture princess with an heraldic feel.
