I want to keep one mannequin on my boat during my year off. This will be the raw papier mache lady (above right), as she'll blend into the background nicely when I'm not working.
With my gilded lady (above left), I have two options.
1) loan her to a friend for a year...
2) sell her and pop the monies into my personal savings for future fun...
I might sell her. I gilded her myself so I can always gild another, after all. I still love the idea of doing a rose-gold version. Perhaps after a year on my boat, my other raw piece could end up being gilded?
Difficult to set a price though. Well actually, that's not accurate. It's quite easy to set a price, just not always easy to achieve it. With something like the gilded mannequin, it's very simple. What would I rather have? Ongoing use of my lovely mannequin or £200 to go towards horse-based fun? £600? £1000? Which do I want more? Where's the threshold? I'll decide soon.
