Next generation corsetmakers... Rosie Red
REPOSTED FROM FACEBOOK...
Yesterday I was down in Oxford to see my lovely and talented friend Rosie Red Corsetry & Couture. She was shooting her new mini-collection with wonderful InaGlo Photography (also great friends) on two beautiful models (Miss.Deadly.Red shown here, and Rosie Pigott), so I hovered around taking behind-the-scenes snaps and having a nose at all the pretty garments. We were beset by rain, wind, thunderstorms, and changeable glorious sunshine, so it was quite the eventful day!
Many of you will remember Rosie from over a year ago when she was interning with me. I oversaw her final uni project and she covered some Saturdays for me in the boutique, it was lovely. We had a dual shoot with InaGlo back then (May 2013) and it was many people's first introduction to "Rosie's Roses", a signature detail! Since then Rosie has graduated university, created many many more silk roses (they're endless!), and has just featured in this September's edition of Vanity Fair... That very same rose and vine wrapped gown which started it all last year was worn by the always intriguing Helena Bonham Carter for their Style feature!
So if you don't already follow Rosie's work, you should. She's an absolute sweetheart, super-hardworking, bold and fearless (something most of us creatives seem to lack!), and very talented.
