The Jewellery Quarter

If you need a delicious meal in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, you will probably go to The Drop Forge. I was there yesterday with my friend Cathy (who runs Foundations Revealed), it was lovely to sit up in the open-air courtyard and enjoy some fresh air and lovely company. Hylton Cafe is great for breakfasts and lunches (I sometimes pop there for a cheese and ham toasty on my lunch break - they're lovely people with lovely food), whilst the Rose Villa Tavern has a more trendy feel and the Urban Coffee Company often has tasty treats (we had a chocolate-lime brownie there once, which was amazing!).

Many lovely old buildings and signs in the Jewellery Quarter (like this right next to The Drop Forge), it's a nice place to wander around. Though to my shame I still have never visited the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter... Really need to make the time, it's less than 5mins from our studio!

Things are generally bustling on a Saturday and nicely quiet on a Sunday. Which is why I'm recommending Sundays mostly for those who wish to hire our photoshoot location (that's when we tend to shoot too, free parking, quiet surroundings, it's nice and chilled). Though if you plan on visiting other JQ boutiques and such whilst here, you'll probably want to come during the week.
