“Black Cherry” underbust - progress pictures
I have been hard at work and the bulk of the stitching is now complete.
We began with these fabrics:
The black and white print for the lining is an alternative to the fabric we originally hoped to use, but I think it works brilliantly. Here are all the pieces cut (we’re sandwiching the steels between two layers of coutil for this corset) and the lovely spoon busk prior to insertion:
And here’s the corset this evening after a day’s work:
The busk looks almost gold there and the whole thing is blurry, but that’s simply because I seem to have misplaced my photography skills :-(
There’s been a lot of pressing and roll-pinning today as this corset is super-curvy. There’s something like 50 boning channels too, so I got through a lot of thread! So now I am going to have a relaxing evening of doing nothing! I might watch a movie or read a book, the possibilities are endless… my life is so rock&roll.
