Mmm… Toffee Apple red 22” cincher - completed and for sale
I love this colour, though I must apologise for the dark photographs. I can’t remember what it was called (I really like the names of colours…), so we’ll stick to “toffee apple” for now, as that is what it reminds me of ![]()
I also love silk charmeuse in general! I can’t stop running my hands over it!
This piece is a 22” standard sized cincher (closing at 20” if appropriate) with high hip and gently pointed centre-front. The “toffee apple” red silk is offset by, you guessed it, black satin coutil exterior casings.
Silk thread is used for the flossing, in a shade that is more towards the cranberry/crimson side of red. The central decorative panel features machine embroidery in a complimentary viscose thread. This was done before my embroidery machine decided to die of course! But it is something I would like to develop upon in the future.
Two-part brass grommets finish the corset, along with a long black corsetry lace (finished with hand-crimped brass aglets). In terms of construction, we have all the usual suspects: 100% cotton coutil strength layer, a waist tape, flat-felled interior seams, loose lining in ivory cotton sateen and hand-finished facings and bindings. Yummy ![]()
You can also see here my new Sparklewren sample stamp. It gives a lovely hand-made “distressed” look which I like, and shows each sample I make for the unique “one of a kind” that they are ![]()
And finally, this piece is on sale in my etsy shop as normal.
