My Dremmel has been dumped…
…my mama got me a small bench-mounted grinder as an early Christmas present today! Although, neither of us could remember if it was actually meant to be my birthday present (which is the end of this month), so I’m not sure what’s going on. Regardless, I am very grateful for it as it is so much faster than using my Dremmel.
I’ll still keep the Dremmel on standby in-case the motor decides to burn out on this new toy or something, but I am happy. It’s all about increased productivity kids (and not boring myself to tears by filing 40 flats individually using the Dremmel). I didn’t even realise you could get a small grinder like this, I foolishly thought that the choice was between a hand-held Dremmel-type tool, or a huge bench-mounted beast for proper metalworkers. I am pleased to have been shown that there is an in-between! Maybe I should spend more time in B&Q to keep up to date with the kit available to me.
Honestly, I don’t want to bore the corsetmakers out there who will already know this, but the difference in time spent per steel is ridiculous. And it wasn’t expensive either, that’s the thing. It was cheaper than my Dremmel. And the disks will last considerably longer than my Dremmel’s tips do…
So yeah, the Dremmel is dumped!
[Just wait, something will happen and I’ll have to sheepishly crawl back to it in a few months time, begging forgiveness…]
